Patient's Back Pain Healed At Weekend Health Clinic
I came to Mexico as a physician supervisor for a team of pre-medical students on a weekend mission. David and Lynne met us at a wonderful taco stand and our first taste of Mexico was wonderful. After picking up the Dental Van which contained 2 dental chairs, we went to our first medical clinic.
There were people waiting for us and gathered inside the building. We saw children and stray dogs running in the dirt road as we arrived. The medicines were placed on the tables and we soon began seeing patients.
A man in his 60ʼs, who had had pain in his mid-back for many years came to me. I told him that we had medicines that would temporarily help his pain, but that we would like to pray for his healing. One of the students and I placed our hands on his lumbar spine and prayed. He said that his pain was a little better but not much. I asked him to sit back down and asked him if there was someone in his life that he was unable to forgive for hurting him. His ex-wife had run off with another man, and he still held bitterness towards her. I told him that I thought that was impeding his healing and that I would like to help him forgive her. He agreed and I led him through a prayer of forgiveness for her. He said that he felt much better. We had him stand again and we placed our hands on his back and prayed. I asked him to move and test his back. It was 50% better. I told him that God was healing him. We prayed again and his pain improved to 80%. We prayed again and his pain was totally gone. He was able to touch his toes and had a tremendous smile on his face. I told him that God loved him and wanted him to know that, and that was why He sent us to them. He was elated that his long-standing back pain had resolved and said that he didnʼt need any medicine, because he had no back pain. I saw him later carrying his granddaughter in line for the hot dogs that we were providing. He was pain-free.
We had many experiences like this, and, through prayer, saw God heal many, who left without the medicine they came for. They left with big smiles, praising the Father, knowing that they were loved. It was a joy bringing Godʼs love to these lovely people. God brings His love through Dave and Lynne and through Mexican Medical Ministries. It was my first time working with them, but I was impressed by the loving service to the people of Mexico, and hope to come back again. I am a neurosurgeon by trade, and this was a wonderful opportunity to share God's love with the less fortunate.
