Tijuana Brigada June 12, 2010

It was a great day of service in Tijuana as we reached out to about 150 people offering over 350 services including medical consultations, dental care, reading glasses, haircuts, blood pressure and blood glucose checks, and children's ministry. We praise God for the 75 people that received Christ as their Savior during the event.

Michelle Peabody, who was leading the children’s ministry area reports: During the Brigada I had a chance to speak to a volunteer from Kairos who was teaching the hand washing station. We were talking about how even though we didn’t have as many kids as we were hoping for, this gave us the opportunity to spend more time with the children individually. That’s when she told me that it was a good day. She was blessed to lead one young girl to Christ after explaining that Jesus came to wash away our sins. Then and there they bowed their heads and prayed.

At another station, Pastor Rafael Jr. taught about having “clean hands and clean hearts” and they all worked on banner crafts. He explained to each group of kids that God gave us a way to have clean hearts. After one group prayed the sinners prayer together, one young boy in particular lifted his head and had tears streaming down his cheeks. Pastor Junior pulled him aside and asked him if he would like to invite Jesus into his heart. So yes, it was a very good day in the children’s ministry because we had three children pray to receive Christ into their hearts.
