If you are driving a private vehicle or a rental vehicle that does not come with Mexican auto insurance, you will need to purchase Mexican auto insurance. Why? In the event of an accident, you are required by Mexican law to have insurance from a Mexican company, even if you are not at fault. resources_icon_phonePhone Calls in Mexico

When calling any U.S. phone number (including other U.S. cell phones traveling in Mexico with you) simply dial 001-area code-number. Please check with your cell phone provider about coverage and roaming fees for calls originating in Mexico. We find that AT&T and Verizon offer the most coverage, while Sprint offers little coverage in Baja. Bring your car and wall chargers with you. Cell phones run out of charge quicker while searching for service in Mexico.
